CVS/pharmacy took on a major redesign of its website in 2007. Working with Studiocom, my role was to manage the user interface interface (UI) design track. We conducted the project with two concurrent interaction design tracks, while also keeping in sync with visual design, business analysis, and technical tracks. My role involved constant collaboration with client team members and several other third-party vendors.
The objectives of the project included the re-design of major functional elements of the CVS site including all pharmacy transactions, front-store shopping experience, and store locator.
Our iterative design approach to this project included:
- Multiple concurrent tracks, divided by major functional groupings
- Weekly design reviews with track leaders to ensure consistency with other parts of the project
- Qualitative usability testing with representatives of target audience for pharmacy transactions
- Rolling handoffs to development team
We completed the UI design and specifications in approximately 20 weeks, plus additional support for QA and revisions during development.
The redesigned CVS/pharmacy website launched in 2008.
